DragonSoul, a popular role-playing game by PerBlue, that is being promoted in Russia in a partnership with Rebound Mobile, has been purchased by GREE International Entertainment, a Francisco-based division of Japanese mobile-social company.
The game was released in September 2015 and engaged more than 9 million players around the globe. The popularity of the game is clearly seen also by being one of the 100 top-grossing games at the Apple app store and one of the 40 highest-grossing Android games.
“We at GREE are huge fans of DragonSoul and incredibly grateful to PerBlue for trusting us to carry it forward as they move on to new and exciting projects.
While this transition happens between the GREE and PerBlue teams you, the players, won’t see any difference in your gaming experience. As we move forward our GREE team will focus on increasing customer support, enhancing game stability, and expanding live events globally. Most importantly, we will continue to deliver a fun, fast, RPG with all the humor and heroes you love.”
Under the terms of acquisition, GREE Inc. gets only assets of DragonSoul, while the team of PerBlue continues to work on other projects.
Rebound Mobile has been in a long-term partnership with PerBlue by exclusively promoting DragonSoul on the Russian market and helped to boost the game to the Top-15 Grossing Overall. We will continue to work closely with GREE to keep DragonSoul one of the most popular mobile RPG among the Russian gamers.
